Ascend AI Acceptable Use Policy

Version: v1.2

Effective Date: May 23, 2026

1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy defines prohibited uses of Ascend AI. The platform is intended for lawful business operations, not abusive automation, spam, surveillance, regulated decision-making, emergency dispatch, harassment, or unlawful communications.

2. Prohibited Conduct

Customers must not use the platform to:

  • Send spam, unsolicited marketing, unlawful commercial messages, or messages without required consent.
  • Violate CASL, TCPA, telemarketing laws, anti-spam laws, call recording rules, or similar communications requirements.
  • Conduct harassment, discrimination, threats, abusive messaging, workplace harassment, sexual harassment, or virtual harassment.
  • Commit fraud, deception, impersonation, phishing, identity misuse, or consumer deception.
  • Route illegal sales, unlawful services, prohibited commerce, or regulated transactions without authorization.
  • Store or transmit malware, malicious payloads, or unauthorized scraping tools.
  • Bypass security, access another tenant's data, or interfere with platform operation.
  • Engage in unauthorized surveillance, unauthorized recording, or unauthorized monitoring.
  • Use the platform for emergency dispatch, crisis response, life-safety routing, medical emergency handling, or real-time crisis intervention.
  • Upload prohibited sensitive data or regulated records without written authorization.
  • Use AI outputs as regulated professional advice.

3. Restricted and Prohibited Data Categorization

Users are strictly prohibited from using general text-entry modules, notes, intake fields, communication transcripts, order fields, or conversational fields to store unencrypted Personal Health Information, medical records, clinical records, diagnostic information, prescription information, lab information, or treatment records.

The platform is engineered for administrative scheduling, operational inventory tracking, communications intake, order capture, and client coordination. It is not an Electronic Health Record platform, clinical records system, legal case-management vault, or regulated data repository.

Users must not upload, store, or process government-issued identification numbers, SIN, SSN, passport numbers, raw payment cardholder details, confidential legal documentation, privileged documents, or regulated identity data inside free-text fields or communication logs.

All payment workflows must be handled through approved payment processors such as Stripe-hosted checkout.

4. Regulated Industries

Customers in medical, dental, wellness, legal, immigration, financial, insurance, government, or similarly regulated environments must ensure their use of Ascend AI complies with all applicable professional, regulatory, privacy, and consent obligations.

Ascend AI does not provide professional advice or regulated decision-making.

5. Communications Compliance

Customers are responsible for consent, opt-in, opt-out, call recording notices, SMS disclosures, anti-spam compliance, telemarketing compliance, and communications compliance. Ascend AI may suspend messaging or voice features if misuse is suspected.

6. Workplace and Virtual Harassment

Customers must not use the platform to facilitate workplace harassment, sexual harassment, discriminatory conduct, abusive communications, or retaliatory communications, including through virtual channels, SMS, transcripts, call logs, social DMs, or internal dashboard notes.

7. Automated and Asynchronous Channels

Where automated voice, SMS, or webhook channels receive requests outside live human supervision, customers remain responsible for verifying outputs before fulfillment. Requests may be marked as pending, requested, or review required where inventory, availability, pricing, or authorization is uncertain.

8. Enforcement

Ascend AI may suspend, restrict, or terminate accounts that violate this policy, create risk, generate abuse complaints, expose the platform to legal, operational, or security harm, or threaten another tenant or third party.

9. Legal Review

This Acceptable Use Policy provides a compliance framework governing lawful use of the Ascend AI platform. Review with qualified legal counsel is recommended to address jurisdiction-specific requirements.
